Protocolbureau was founded in 1996 by students of Hotelschool The Hague University. Wytze attended the school together with Protocolbureau’s Executive Director Jean Paul Wijers and was part of its early days, taking part in many interesting events. To date he still is a Senior Partner of Protocolbureau. Elizabeth and Wytze were thrilled when Jean Paul agreed to support the wedding planning and involve Protocolbureau staff on the big day!
The first assignment of Protocolbureau was the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Awards to His Majesty the King of Spain. In preparation for this awards ceremony, the Master of Ceremonies of Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands gave a lecture about protocol and a few years later he requested assistance at the Royal Weddings and State Funerals in The Netherlands. With this, Protocolbureau became a leading protocol expert.
